You\u2019ve got Bruno Fernandes. They\u2019re both top players. You could ask what Liverpool players would get in City\u2019s team? Would Salah get in City\u2019s team? Absolutely. The best players go to the clubs that suit the style of the manager that\u2019s there. That\u2019s what each club\u2019s trying to do, they want to build every summer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"2\">Q: Do Liverpool need to sign a Steven Gerrard type player in midfield? Is Declan Rice that signing?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CA:<\/strong> \u201cI think Declan Rice will be too expensive for Liverpool. I also think he can go and play for any club that he wants to play for. I think he\u2019s that good, I think he\u2019s a top player. He\u2019s got all the attributes to be a focal point and one of the top midfield players in the world. West Ham are in the driving seat because he\u2019s got two years on his contract but I do expect them to sell him in the summer and get maximum value for him. Every club in England would want him as do Bayern Munich if you believe what you read. But it will come down to who is willing to pay the amount that West Ham demand. We\u2019re talking over \u00a3100m so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"3\">Q: Would Mason Mount fit in at Liverpool?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CA:<\/strong> \u201cYeah absolutely. I think he\u2019s another one that Liverpool will be in for but I think Manchester United are interested as well. These are the type of players Liverpool will be looking at. Players with good Premier League experience, young enough to go and prove themselves again and bring a high level of quality into the group. If they can land him and Mac Allister then it would be a good window.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"4\">Q: What players would you be targeting to improve Liverpool if you were in Klopp\u2019s shoes?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CA:<\/strong> \u201cWell it looks like Alexis Mac Allister is a done deal. I think he\u2019s a top player. He\u2019s a midfielder that can create but can also get on the ball and can see a pass. He\u2019s got good energy. We all talk about those midfield positions and rightly so because they\u2019re going to lose a few key players in terms of Milner and Firmino so they will have to be replaced in the dressing room but also on the pitch. I think they might try and bring another right back in if Trent Alexander-Arnold is going to be playing in midfield at times next year. I think it could be too much for a Conor Bradley or a Calvin Ramsey to step up if Trent is in midfield. We know Liverpool won\u2019t go and spend astronomical money and pay over the odds for players, they\u2019ll be cute and they\u2019ll be clever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"5\">Q: What specifically do you think went wrong for Liverpool this season?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CA:<\/strong> \u201cIt\u2019s a combination of a lot of things. Performances of individuals weren\u2019t up to scratch across the whole season. Injuries to key players. A whole host of things went bad for Liverpool over the season. Firmino was a big loss and bringing in Gakpo he was always going to take time to settle in a new country. Nunez the same, but they\u2019ll both be better players next season. Diaz was injured for a long time, don&#8217;t forget. People like Thiago not being able to stay fit and Konate missing some games too. So it\u2019s been a roller coaster but they\u2019ll bounce back there\u2019s no doubt about it. Everyone wants to be in the Champions League but we can\u2019t turn our nose up at the Europa League. It\u2019s a great competition and it gets you in the Champions League if you win it next season. It\u2019s another trophy to go and win so I think Jurgen will use it wisely and want to be competitive and ultimately want to go and win it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b id=\"6\">Q: Liverpool have just appointed former Wolfsburg Sporting Director Jorg Schmadtke to take over, has he got the biggest job on his hands in the PL?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CA:<\/strong> \u201cI think in the forward area he\u2019ll be looking to add more strength in depth and might look to bring another number 9 in as well. They&#8217;ll look in the market for value and if they can do the business they\u2019ll do the business.
